HISTORY OF FAIR HAVEN

The Fair Haven Christian Church, founded in 1953, is based on the principles of the Restoration Movement: to pattern the church as set forth in the New Testament, without regard to man-made creeds. The Church is led by Elders and is an independent congregation; that is, not affiliated with any denomination. The Elders shepherd the congregation and oversee the Staff and all ministries. For many years the Church was located one mile north of Trafalgar, IN at the corner of State Road 135 and County Road 300S. The Church grew significantly at this location and doubled the building capacity in the 1970s. Growth continued and in 2000 the congregation relocated to the present site at 1476 W 300S to allow for current and future expansion for the congregation and increased outreach to the Trafalgar community and the world beyond. God continues to add to His Church; from 2000 to 2008 the Fair Haven congregation has doubled in size and added staff and ministries to further spread the message of Jesus Christ. The Church is again embarking on a significant expansion phase. Property has recently increased from 10 to 20 acres and construction will begin soon on a large building addition to enhance ministries for children, teens, adult education, fellowship, and sports/recreation.
